When someone asks me whether I’m a teacher, I try to remember to say no. I’m not a teacher. In my experience, a teacher is someone who takes some concept and then teaches their way through it. Many of my teachers left me worse off than when I started … sometimes a lot worse off.
No, I’m not a teacher … instead, I’m a communicator. I try and take the experiences I’ve had, the research I’ve done, and the knowledge I’ve learned, separate the theory from the reality, and put it into words that the average church leader can understand. I tend to shun big words, lofty ideas, theological doublespeak, and philosophical psychobabble, choosing instead to say whatever needs to be said a plainly as possible.
And so, this is the portal to some of the resources I’ve created. You’ll find books on spirituality, emerging church, alternative church, and leadership development. You’ll find podcasts and articles and who-knows-what I’ll produce tomorrow. My hope is that all of them will help you to excel.
