When I think about the pastors who have been most influential in my life, they are the ones who did model those things instead of giving orders. As an elder in the UMC it seems to me we're going to have to buck up and say, "It's going to hurt because many don't want to adjust the mission method for changing times but my thin-skinned feelings aren't as important as the mission."
